Mayr-Melnhof Holz Headquarters

Architect: Nussmüller Architekten ZT GmbH

Contractor: Schreiner Trockenbau GmbH

Project: Renovation

To offer maximal acoustic comfort in the timber/glass canopied courtyard all public areas were built as “cells”; these cubicles are covered – or better “wrapped” in punched Rigitone 8/18 Q ceiling-boards. It’s a great visual interaction between the two innovative materials timber and plasterboard.

The acoustic tissue was chosen in black to support the architectonical concept, the patterns of light and shadow. The Rigitone boards are framed by plain 150 mm width friezes to complete the ensemble.
